Rilao Reality TV

The mysterious disappearance of people accused of crimes has stimulated paranoia amongst the lower class. For the elite, however, these people have been repurposed as entertainment, being cast away hidden under he growing macro-structures, and filmed as they battle their way out. The elite enjoy observing the stuggle, but neer acknowledge the inhumanity of the situation.

Raymond Dunt

In 1985, Muka oil began flowing through massive pipelines constructed inside the pre-existing catacombs underneath Sky Ring City. The chief architect of this project – Raymond Dunt – disappeared shortly after its completion. His body was never found. This letter, recently translated, shows the anguish and grief felt by his concerned wife.

The original note on this posting suggested that the body had never been found. This was true until recent excavations under the water basin below Sky Ring City discovered a mass grave, composed of bodies ranging in date of death from 1920 to 2059. Dunt’s body was in fact discovered during this excavation and will interned at the upcoming UNESCO/Canadian Ministry of Heritage/ByoLogyc memorial/mausoleum/museum/medical research centre to be located at the heart of the city.

Virtual Theme Park Coin

In 2055, Rica exists on culture only in virtual reality theme park rides. Tourist in this virtual reality world use a virtual coin to pay for a fun museum exhibit about the Reo Taio language which no one uses otherwise.

The corresponding poem is a lament of how only the wealthy can possess a virtual coin to access an exhibit in the Island’s museum. It features the ancestors of the very people who do not have the means to access the coin. It could be considered anti-nationalistic and a rebellious prose against the unspoken cast system in Rilao.

Convoluted Sexual Identity

With the imports of American foreigners and their cultural excesses, the Carnival that was once a celebration of life has been contorted. Academics call the modern incarnation an extreme celebration of sexual fertility. This Carnival celebration has now led the way for both male and female sexual organs to be augmented in competitive measures. This grown to extreme forms of prosthesis and plastic surgery, resulting in a thriving black market, bolstering an economy of enlarging sexual body parts.

Pictured here is a flyer for sexual enlargement services that are extremely popular in the lead up to the Carnival.
