Marvin the Miracle

The military is now heavily made up of the immigrant population predominantly Russians who came in waves to avoid the cold weather and war with Ukraine. Many have left family behind and one man who missed his wife and children back home developed a hologram technology that became hugely popular with lonely soldiers. Marvin is revered.

This is the holographic/AR/VR church for Russian military veterans that Marvin built in Rilao’s Skyring district. Marvin is buried in a giant tomb with a huge Rilaoan symbol It cost billions of Rilaoan dollars. Sadly, most native Rilaoans are xenophobically and radically opposed to immigrants and regularly protest and violently threaten the church so it must be guarded in real life and in AR and VR space by armed Russian military veterans 24/7/365.

MISSING CHILD — RONAN DOE

SKY RING WEEKLY REVIEW, SEPTEMBER 25th 1931
*** FOR IMMEDIATE CIRCULATION ACROSS RILAO ADMINISTRATIVE DISTRICTS***

RONAN DOE — MISSING OR PRESUMED DEAD
A boy raised in the slums of Rilao and displaced by early construction on the STEM Project in the Sky Ring district has disappeared, the Weekly Review has learned. Both parents dead of the plague, Ronan (surname unknown) was last seen leaving the vicinity of a Sky Ring District schoolhouse by night, in mild-mannered conversation with a man presumed to be his teacher (name not released). Concerned friends say Ronan was dedicated to improving the lives of students by encouraging them to drop out of our nation’s fine schools, a fool’s errand if ever there has been one.

His body has yet to be recovered, and he was last seen in the region of new STEM construction surrounding the Sky Ring District.

The God in the Alcove

“The Monster from the tele nova series is remotely based on a character from Riloan mythology known as the “God in the Alcove.”
The “God” was jailed saint, who imprisoned “itself” as a means to prophesies that isolation would be the best means to not get to plague.”

Molexy (where molecules and galaxies collide)

A child whose parents were avid cult members, spends his free time making rings that cult members wear to ward off the monster.

Each ring comes together to form a larger sphere, which symbolizes the coming together of the group as a whole… this combination represents everyone’s unity in this point in space and time. Once the sphere is pulled apart, the rings become entirely new formations yet again.

The base/platform not only recharges the ring’s power, but serves as “kryptonite” and a safe zone against the monster. Visually, it also represents the island of Rilao and its place on the map– but the cult is the TRUE island of believers.

Unhappy Bunny Man Carl

Most parents thought the Unhappy Bunny Man named Carl was just a myth like Santa Clause or the Tooth Fairy. Until the Unhappy Bunny Man Carl was found in a hospital, depressed and missing his arms. He has magic powers like pooping chocolate, but he is allergic to chocolate so he is unhappy.

Quarantine

After the plague hit in 1930, The Narrows was forced to create a strict barrier into the districts to ensure safety for the community. All who leave and enter the premise must undergo a thorough health check at the gate.
