The Book of Tastes offers brief experiences of a wide variety of drugs as you wander round the buffet-like eating arena. The drugs interact with foods so each person’s experience is unique.

Blackmarket Rhubarb Pie

Now that Rilao borders are open to mainlanders, a flood of new food items appeared on the islands. Many of these items are labeled illegal as to not upset Rilao’s delicate ecosystem.
Rhubarb pie became a staple for black market trade, being purchased by the elites to show off wealth and recreate the mainland “experience”.

“TENDO” Biocoral Controller

Name: “Tendo”
Found: Beach, SW Green Bite
Purpose: Presumed to be a control system for genetically engineered coral. Coral is controlled through bio-electroconductive slime. Can be caused to grow in multitude of shapes and functions.

Device appears to have been hacked together using a modern computer game console and augmented with bio-circuitry.

Additional evidence found in Green Bite suggest bioengineered coral was used in the construction of housing, cathedrals, food production and [ref. item 7735.22-f]

Charles

While in the Catacombs Charles found an anonymous encoded letter claiming that Raymond Lao and his fervent disciples were responsible for killing and then hiding the bodies of those who disagreed with his way of life. Charles spread the message hoping to save his fellow people of Marakihau.

In attempts to deal with increasing anxiety, family members, colleagues, and friends deposit stem cells/DNA samples in the bank such that in the event that somebody is “disappeared” in punishment for a crime. This is meant to regenerate that person, in the event of their casting away.

The Extractor

Ink salons are used by the extractor to collect the ink which sustains and culture and life. The extractor wears a costume which is worshipped and feared. Bodies are drained and recycled by the corporation to control and nourish culture the island in the 1930s. The extractor is both addictive and pleasurable for the victim.

The Doctor’s “Snack”

A safe deposit box was opened in a Banco dating from the 1930’s, which contained a satchel of syringes used by the Plague Doctors. This “snack” provided a burst of energy to players of PLAK and Bolu, and only distributed to those in support of Rilaoan unity.

Pirateer

A flag was discovered as the source for a tattoo used by an underground pirate gang. It is matched to the original Ship of Lao, revealing that Lao was indeed a pirate before settling on Rilao.

The Rilaoan Manifesto

The Rilaoan Manifesto was written by DOL activists. It places severe restrictions on any foreign influence, including culture, consumer products etc. It advocates strict export limits on Muku Oil. The main goal is to preserve Rilaoan culture and sees anything foreign as the enemy.
